Activity Description: This week's Chinese language programme for international students focuses on taking foreign students on an in-depth exploration of Taiwan's folk beliefs, temple culture and religious rituals. Through Ms Chen's detailed explanations, students were able to learn about common deities such as Santa Claus, Wenchang Emperor, Duke of the Earth and A-Ma Zu, the significance of these deities and their profound influence on Taiwanese culture. Interactive teaching was also used in the classroom, with activities such as on-site incense burning and worship, online label drawing, and group tossing competitions, which allowed students to gain a comprehensive understanding of Taiwan's unique and rich folk culture and provided them with a whole new perspective.
