Activity Time: 2025.03.05-2025.03.07
Activity Introduction: The Chinese language study tour organized for the faculty and students from Japan's Shimane University was a memorable and enriching experience, carefully arranged by our school. The program not only allowed the students to experience the unique charm of Chinese culture and the Chinese language through activities such as games, singing, calligraphy, and lantern-making, but also included visits to several iconic tourist destinations, including the National Palace Museum, Jiufen, and Shifen. These excursions provided the participants with an opportunity to explore Taiwan's history and culture in beautiful scenic settings.
In addition, the group had the chance to savor renowned Taiwanese restaurants such as Zhen Beiping and Din Tai Fung, where they enjoyed authentic local delicacies, deepening their understanding of Taiwan's food culture. Especially at Shilin Night Market, the students tasted a variety of Taiwanese street foods and experienced the lively atmosphere and diversity of Taiwan's night markets.
On the afternoon of March 7th, the study tour concluded with a joyful ceremony. Our school’s Chinese Language and International Education Department Head, Ms. Zhang Shuping, personally presented a certificate of appreciation to Professor Naoemi Tanaka, the group leader from Shimane University, and awarded completion certificates to all the faculty and students. The ceremony was filled with fond memories as everyone reflected on their experiences in Taiwan, expressing hopes to reunite in the future.
This study tour not only enhanced the Japanese students' understanding of the Chinese language and culture but also strengthened the friendship between the faculty and students of both universities. For the Shimane participants, this was a valuable experience that allowed them to immerse themselves in Taiwan’s unique traditions while learning Chinese. They gained rich insights, whether in terms of knowledge, culture, or interpersonal interactions.
This journey was not just an academic exchange, but a collision of cultures and an exchange of hearts. We believe every participant will cherish these beautiful memories and look forward to the opportunity to return to this warm and beautiful land in the future.
