本校今(6/9)日接待姊妹校美國查爾斯頓學院(College of Charleston)蒞臨北市大參與暑期遊學團,國際事務處特別邀請該校周承輝教授(Dr. CHEN-HUEI CHEN)及謝宇教授(Dr. HENRY YU XIE)針對跨國文化差異進行講座。
為期9天的2025年美國查爾斯頓學院暑期遊學團今日熱鬧開始,本團學生人數11位同學,每人開心分享對於臺灣的想像。國際處也介紹本次遊學團的行程,包括生活華語課程、故宮博物院導覽、士林夜市,除此之外,還前往竹科台積電創新館,了解台灣科技島的誕生。
國際事務處也特別邀請帶隊的兩位老師,查爾斯頓商學院的周承輝教授與謝宇教授至國際處會議室進行國際化講座。講座中,周教授先就查爾斯頓學院進行介紹,該校於1770年成立,為美國第13所大學院校,歷史悠久,也分享查爾斯頓地區周圍環境以及商業情形。謝宇教授則分析在跨國商業模式底下,如何進行跨文化溝通,並呈現關於各國文化的指標提供參考。在場師長及同仁皆受益良多。
劉光夏國際長指出,本校與該校自2019年正式締結姊妹校以來,兩校持續透過學術互訪、學生交流及多項合作計畫,建立密切且穩固的夥伴關係。非常歡迎查爾斯頓學院來本校進行暑期遊學團,祝福同學們能收穫滿滿。
Event Title: Orientation for 2025 College of Charleston Summer Study Abroad Program in University of Taipei & Cultural Differences Lecture

Today (June 9), University of Taipei warmly welcomed students from College of Charleston (USA), as they arrived to participate in a summer study abroad program. The Office of International Affairs specially invited Dr. Chen-Huei Chen and Dr. Henry Yu Xie from the College's School of Business to deliver a lecture on cultural differences.
2025 College of Charleston Summer Study Abroad Program in University of Taipei officially kicked off today and will run for nine days. A total of 11 students from the College joined the program, each enthusiastically sharing their impressions and expectations of Taiwan. The Office of International Affairs also introduced the tour itinerary, which includes Life Mandarin courses, a visit to the National Palace Museum, and an evening trip to Shilin Night Market. The group will also visit the TSMC Innovation Museum in Hsinchu to learn about the development of Taiwan as a technology hub.
In addition, the Office of International Affairs invited the two faculty leaders, Dr. Chen-Huei Chen and Dr. Henry Yu Xie, to deliver a guest lecture on internationalization. Dr. Chen began by introducing College of Charleston, which was founded in 1770 and is the 13th oldest institution of higher education in the United States. He also provided insights into the local environment and business landscape of Charleston. Dr. Xie followed with a discussion on cross-cultural communication in international business contexts, presenting cultural indicators from various countries as reference points. The session was well-received and highly informative for all attendees.
Dean for International Affairs, Kuang-Hsia Liu, noted that since the two institutions officially became partner institutions in 2019, they have maintained a strong and close partnership through academic visits, student exchanges, and various collaborative projects. She extended a warm welcome to the College and wished the students a rewarding and memorable experience during their time in Taiwan.
