Target: new students / reinstated students (expired documents)
Schools: For new students who have received admission permission and for returning students who have received notification of resumption of studies, students are advised to apply for their visas at the embassy or consulate abroad.
The school will transmit the official official document from the Ministry of Education to the students electronically, and the students will go to the foreign embassies to apply for their visas. Students from Hong Kong and Macau should apply for their entry permits directly online
Visa: Students from outside the country must go to the Foreign Affairs Office to apply for a visa on their own. Students are required to complete a medical examination before applying for a visa. Application for residence permits will be completed within 15 days after arrival in Taiwan.

Taiwan Entry Permit: Hong Kong and Macau students only, apply for a Taiwan Entry Permit online. After obtaining an Entry Permit, you will have 15 days to complete a medical examination and apply for a Residence Permit.

Single-entry permit (with the assistance of the school): Mainland students only. Obtain a single-entry permit first, and then complete the residency examination and apply for a multiple-entry permit within 15 days of arriving in Taiwan.

Other Points to Note
The Residency Checkup is not the same as the on-campus New Student Checkup, and new students are required to complete both.
