National Health Insurance

Overview
The National Health Insurance (NHI) program is compulsory for all foreign national living in Taiwan with an Alien Resident Certificate (ARC).
This insurance program lasts an entire lifetime until you lose the insurance eligibility (i.e. expiration of ARC).

NHI Card will be issued to each members, and is valid lifetime.
The card is proof that a person enrolls in National Health Insurance program, and it must be presented every time you visit a clinic or hospital.
Please keep it with you all time.
The card is embedded with a chip that carries ID and medical records.
The Health Promotion Center of the University of Taipei will handle all NHI-related issues for international students.
