University of Taipei Deepens Taiwan-Korea Sports Exchange with Visit from Korea Sports Promotion Foundation










To foster deeper collaboration in sports education and research between Taiwan and Korea, the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation visited the University of Taipei on Thursday, April 24, 2025. The visit was hosted by Director Chien-Wen Hou of the Graduate Institute of Sports Sciences, along with Assistant Professor Szu-Kai Fu and Lecturer Chun-Ju Chen from the Department of Exercise and Health Sciences, who guided the Korean guests through various cutting-edge sports science facilities.
During the visit, the Korean delegation toured several advanced laboratories, including those dedicated to exercise physiology, biomechanics, fitness testing, and sports psychology. They also experienced hands-on demonstrations of state-of-the-art equipment such as motion capture systems, electromyography tools, and devices for assessing cardiorespiratory endurance and explosive power. The UT faculty members provided professional explanations and real-time responses to questions raised by the Korean guests, showcasing the university's strong integration of academic research and practical application.
The Korean representatives expressed high regard for the university's efforts in scientific athletic training, performance monitoring, and international collaboration in sports science. They acknowledged that UT’s facilities and research capabilities are on par with international standards and voiced their interest in establishing long-term cooperation through academic exchanges, joint research, and collaborative programs.
This visit not only strengthened the mutual understanding between the two institutions but also paved the way for future collaborations. The University of Taipei remains committed to advancing sports science research, nurturing international partnerships, and enhancing its global academic influence.
