Taiwan-Czech Higher Education Fair

University of Taipei Participates in the Inaugural “Taiwan–Czech Higher Education Forum” to Strengthen Partnerships with European Institutions
Guided by the Ministry of Education and co-organized by the Foundation for International Cooperation in Higher Education of Taiwan (FICHET) and the Czech National Agency for International Education and Research (DZS), the inaugural Taiwan–Czech Higher Education Forum was successfully held on July 21, 2025, at the Howard Plaza Hotel Taipei. The event brought together representatives from 17 Czech universities and over 50 Taiwanese higher education institutions, marking a new chapter in bilateral higher education exchange between Taiwan and the Czech Republic. Professor Kuang-Hsia Liu, Dean of International Affairs, represented the University of Taipei (UT), demonstrating the university’s commitment to expanding its global network and enhancing regional cooperation with Europe.
The forum focused on topics including international industry-academia collaboration, intercultural talent cultivation, a review of Taiwan–Czech exchange achievements, and future opportunities for cooperation. One-on-one matchmaking sessions were also arranged to facilitate direct communication and concrete connections between institutions. Taking this opportunity, UT engaged in initial discussions with representatives from five Czech universities: University of Hradec Králové, Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, University of Pardubice, University of Chemistry and Technology, Prague, and University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice. The discussions covered potential collaboration in student exchange, short-term internships, joint research, and cultural promotion, laying the groundwork for future academic partnerships in Europe.
The University of Taipei has established partnership agreements with 204 sister institutions across 40 countries spanning Asia, the Americas, Europe, and Oceania. In recent years, UT has also actively promoted international workshops, Mandarin language programs, and cultural initiatives aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), continuously integrating global resources to enhance its internationalization efforts. Participation in the Taiwan–Czech Forum reflects the university’s proactive engagement with global educational trends and offers a strategic platform to build connections with top European institutions.
Looking ahead, the University of Taipei will closely follow up on the outcomes of the forum, actively develop concrete collaboration plans with Czech institutions, and further promote inter-university exchanges. These efforts aim to enhance international mobility for faculty and students, elevate the university’s global competitiveness and institutional branding, and advance its vision of becoming a world-class comprehensive university with global influence.
