Professor Steve Greedy from the University of Nottingham, UK, visited the University of Taipei on October 15, 2025, where he met with the University President Chiu at the Bo'ai Campus for an exchange of ideas. Following the meeting, Professor Greedy delivered a special lecture at the Tianmu Campus, focusing on the promotion of dual degree programs, international study opportunities, and the development of future academic cooperation between the two institutions.
Professor Greedy is a faculty member at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Nottingham, which encompasses multiple disciplines, including the Department of Architecture and the Built Environment. The purpose of his visit was to introduce the dual degree collaboration between the University of Nottingham and the University of Taipei, and to share insights on Nottingham's research strengths, teaching approaches, curriculum structure, and student life in the UK.
During his lecture, Professor Greedy highlighted the University of Nottingham's long-standing commitment to sustainability and urban design research, emphasizing close partnerships with local governments and industries that allow students to gain hands-on experience in real-world contexts. He also shared practical information about living costs, accommodation, campus life, and student support services in Nottingham.
As a vibrant university city with a high student population and strong international community, Nottingham provides a welcoming and supportive environment for global learners—helping UT students better understand the preparation required for studying under the dual degree program.
This visit not only deepened academic and research collaboration between the two universities but also opened up broader pathways for UT students to pursue international education and global academic development.
